One of the most important spiritual activities in the holy month of Kartik is offering lamp (either ghee lamp or sesame oil lamp) to Lord Damodara. Scriptures tell us the glories of offering lamp to Lod Kesava in the Kartik month.
Kartik month is said to be the holiest month because it is very dear to Lord Krishna. The celebrated Damodara pastime in which Yashoda binds Krishna with rope took place in this month.
